ECO Magazine UN Decade Article: Safer Coastal Zones by 2030

The Intergovernmental Coordination Group for the North-eastern Atlantic, Mediterranean and Connected Seas Tsunami Warning and Mitigation System (ICG/NEAMTWS) has contributed an article to the ECO Magazine on the Ocean Decade societal outcome: Safe Ocean. The article highlights key achievements, gaps, challenges and opportunities in tsunami risk mitigation in the NEAM region. It also has the aim of assisting in the important task of making 100% of highly vulnerable communities prepared for and resilient to tsunamis by 2030. The IOC Tsunami Section under the UN Decade is dedicated to achieving the Safe Ocean Societal Outcome through key UNESCO/IOC Programmes including Tsunami Ready Pilot and other initiatives.
